Tour de France 2010: do you feel like me that the Nederlands own beautiful landscapes?

I think that all landscapes have their own unique beauty. Often it becomes apparent in the morning sunlight, or when the light hits in different ways. I guess people often appreciate what they do not see every day. For example, I do not live close to the mountains, and, being in the interior, I am far from the sea, so I appreciate mountain scenery and seacoasts.

The Netherlands have interesting landscapes that are apparent in many of the Dutch "genre" paintings of the Baroque era in art. The Dutch established landscape painting as a form of artistic treatment in itself. The flat low-lying countryside would be ideal for bike riding. It would be green, have a nice mist and be filled with a lot of picturesque beauty. The windmills especially would provide a nice backdrop. The most interesting aspect would be looking out to the sea, which is higher up than the land, which is below sea level.
