Suitcase Padlock

Will the hardware store cut a padlock off my (empty) suitcase for me?

I borrowed a suitcase from a friend and it's PERFECT for my upcoming trip. But she left an old lock on the zipper and there's no key. I bought a new Tsa Lock to use on it, but there's no way to lock it with this old lock stuck where it is. Can I go to Ace Hardware or Menards or someplace with it and ask them to cut it off? Thanks.

You could also just go buy a hacksaw and go to work on it. Do you know someone with a dremel tool. They are excellent for cutting through things too. Or just call and ask. You might also try places that cut metal. . .they will have the right tools to do it.
