do you think sometimes you are treated different in a store because of race?

on the flip side of the coin i'm white and was trying to return an item in this store in burbank, ca which is heavily armenian and i really believe that if i was armenian they would have allowed me to return the item with no questions asked but because i was american they refused because i had no receipt. (this was an earrings item that was damaged when i received it for christmas and i have the store tag) (the store is sears).... do you think this happens?
