Touring Switzerland - base?

Hi All,
We are planning a 7 day trip to switzerland between Apr 23 - 29. We have good deals to fly from Geneva. We are visiting swiss for the first time and so I am looking for some help. Which city to base at? We plan to travel to a lot of places between Geneva and Zurich. We love mountains and lakes, but excellent transport links are a must since we wont have a car.

Interlaken is a great place to stay, i would suggest there. Also, as a place to visit i would strongly recommend a valley called 'Lauterbrunnen' It is the most fantastic place with in the alps, with huge mountains, a couple of lakes and a giant waterfall. A very family friendly cosy village with a lot to see that's not too far from Interlaken!
