Sure. But realize that if you put all the weight of the books in 1 bag on 1 shoulder will be a pain.

The normal 2 shoulder backpacks are usually better for your back because the weight of the books and stuff are equally distributed.

But if you don't care about that and are just more worried about the fashion then, yeah!!! GO for it!
