How to catch a locker room thief?
I'm a senior in high school and every other day I attend my necessary t graduate gym class. The other day I locked up my clothes and valuables in the locker room leaving my backpack out on the bench. However, my wallet was not in the back pocket of my pants, which were safely locked up, but in my backpack and when I returned I was lacking 50 dollars and an ATM card. Yesterday I returned with my valuables still locked up but my brown paper lunch bag ripped up and napkins strewn about. Tomorrow I plan on figuring out a way to catch this hooligan and I would appreciate suggestions to discover his identity.
(tl; dr trying to catch the kid that keeps stealing things out of my backpack)
Ive already reported it and there is nothing they can do to get my stuff back and they're not about to have someone patrol the locker room, I'm not the first student to have something stolen especially since my backpack was not in my locker.
Better to report it to faculty and see if they can find another way to secure your belongings. They may also either be able to appoint someone to monitor the locker room area or at least have someone passing through at regular intervals. Is the lock issued by the school? If so someone may know the combination and the staff should have the locks or combinations changed. If it is a removable padlock I would advise you to bring your own lock and temporarily switch locks while you are unable to monitor your belongings yourself.
