How do I foil backpack thieves?

I'd take a backpack and put some books in it. Then get some junk electronics and stuff em in there. Something that looks expensive, but is broken or worthless in some way. Then go to the supermarket and get a bag of habanero peppers. Cut the peppers in half. (Be sure to wear GLOVES) Then rub the inside of the habaneros all over the 'bait' electronic gadget. Rub them all over it and make sure to really mash it into it so there's a lot of the habanero oil all over it. Let it dry for an hour or so and place it inside the backpack. When the juice is dry it will be invisible, but still crazy potent. Remember to wash your hands thoroughly after you're done and DONT touch the bait again. Just leave it in your backpack until it gets stolen. Now when our thief snatches your goods, he will fumble with it and try to make it work, and in the process get the dried juice and oil from the habaneros all over his hands. Since people touch their faces and rub their eyes all the time without noticing it, it will be plainly obvious who was the thief when they are screaming in pain after they rub some pepper oil in their eyes. And they best part is that since they don't know why their eyes are burning, they will keep rubbing them, not knowing that they're only rubbing it in MORE. (insert evil laugh) Trust me, anybody that has ever made the mistake of not washing their hands or utensils after messing with habaneros will tell you it's worse than a blast of pepperspray to the face when you rub your eyes.
