Backpack Toddler Harness
From a parents point of view, what do you think about the child harnesses?
I'm not a parent, but I can see how certain situations would warrant them. I mean "tell your kid no running off", I don't think a toddler is going to listen to that(if anything they'll just think it's a game and run even faster), and I can understand them in crowded places. Given that you use the backpack looking ones and not the old style ones which were like straps. Or maybe some parents have bad knees or are physically disabled. Again, as long as it's not the strap ones.
So my question would be to parents. Did you ever find situations in which these things were a necessity? Why or Why not?
We used one with our first child, and it worked great. Then we tried one with our second child and it didn't work at all - he screamed anytime we put it on, would either refuse to move at all or take it off and run, and it just wasn't practical at all. Bottom line is that all kids are different. On the strap style instead of the cutesy backpacks, I prefer the former because these harnesses are a tool for serious safety use, and the backpack style is too much like a toy for most kids to take seriously.
