how to remove a white round disc like security tag from a backpack<_

I bought a backpack a couple of months ago, I don't know if I still have the receipt, but if no one has any suggestions/ information i'll probably go back even though it's kinda out of the way. Anyways, this is what it looks like http://www.sidep.net/tags/pictures/tags/stan_line/round.jpg white round, plastic, with a bump in the middle and on the other side it has a small round disc with a metal circle in the middle(which i think is holding it together judging by my multiple attempts with pliers.) Does anyone have any experience with removing this particular kind of tag? ANd do they even contain ink anyways? Thanks.

For most security tags, all the shop assistants use to remove them is just a magnet (stronger than your averaged fridge magnet). If you have a strong magnet(You could get one from an old, not working computer hard drive), all you should need to do is rest the part that sticks out on the magnet and the pins on the inside should lift away. Sometimes you may need to push the pin in a little before it releases.
