Backpack Liters To Cubic Inches
What size backpack should be used for a summer of travelling around Europe?
For 2-3 months, I will be staying in hostels, sleeping on trains, and possibly doing some camping. I'm going to buy the vast majority of my food in grocery stores, so I'll have to carry it. I'm only going to bring one internal-frame backpack and that's it.
I am NOT asking how much to pack (I know I should pack light), only about the size of the pack itself. I'm considering everything from 45 liters (2700 cubic inches) where I'd have to use all the available space, to 100 liters (6200 cubic inches) where I'd have hordes of extra room for food and such.
What do you think? Thanks for any info or advice!
I think 45 liters isn't enough. Last summer I went to Russia, Mongolia and China for two months and I used a backpack from 65 liters. It was ok, but better when I had a bigger one.
So, I think a backpack from about 70-90 liters will be all right.
You should go to a good store where people can give you some good advice. Just to make sure you buy a good one in the right size 
.
There are also backpacks, which you can 'enlarge'. Mine was 65 liters, but I could change it into 75 liters by putting on another 'piece'.
