Should i get the black or flat earth (green) color for a 5.11 tactical rush 24 bail out bag?
I am trying to decide between the two colors for the backpack. I will be using it for a SHTF bail out bag and maybe for some camping here and there.. should i get black or Flat(dark) earth color? what are some pro's and con's for a BOB color?
I think you are way over complicating things.
If you are planning for a SHTF scenario, is color really that important?
If I was choosing a bag and color was the motivating factor I would choose OD green, which I assume flat earth green is something like that. It would camouflage better in a wider variety of rural environments. However, if you are going to stay urban then black may be better. Green would "look military" and raise suspicion of passing refugees or government agents. Black may blend in better then because it is more common, it has a higher possibility of being overlooked. It depends on what you are planning for.
EDIT: Jim makes a great point I hadn't thought about. What is your idea of SHTF? Is it necessarily roughing a week or two until help comes, or is it hiding from a corrupt government or invading country or something? If you are hoping for rescue than bright reflective materials would be better. However, I still say get a green or black bag. If you need to make it visible you can tie some reflective paracord or a mirror around it, but it's damn hard to camouflage a bright shiny bag.

5.11 Tactical RUSH 72 Backpack - Flat Dark Earth $159.95 Sized for a three-day excursion, the RUSH 72 Backpacks is loaded with the features operators need and want. Designed by special operations combat veteran, Kyle Lamb of VTAC, these backpacks come with two large compartments and a compression strap system that allows expandability depending upon how much gear you carry. The front section of the pack includes an organizer panel with two zippered mesh compartments; a large zippered pocket, a key fob and radio/magazine pockets with hook and loop straps. The main compartment has three mesh zippered pockets and a separate large cinch pocket. There are two full-length Side Pockets that can handle a variety of different items including large water bottles. The top of the backpack has a separate fleece lined eyeglass pocket and a smaller external zippered gear pocket.
