Would backpacking around Quebec be a good first-time backpacking trip?
I want to backpack somewhere alone in the spring, but I've never backpacked before. I want to go somewhere for about two weeks, not too far from home, and utilize my French (because I've lived in Belgium and am still very conversational). I've wanted to go to Montreal for quite some time, but I know there's more to Quebec than that. I want to sort of dip my toes into backpacking before I suddenly just take off on a 1-2 month adventure. What are your thoughts?
I think you should it's a really beautiful place! I live in Montreal but I've seen a lot of Quebec and a lot of areas are really great! As long as you can speak French you should be fine but i don't know if we have the same dialect of French here as you do so it could be hard for you to understand if you're used to French from France or Belgium. There's a lot of cool places you could go in Quebec too and if you like the city Montreal's a lot of fun! You should go to the Gaspé it's really pretty there 
I think it would be a good experience before you do a major bakpacking trip!
